I am an vegetarian as well! I also love experimenting with recipes and combinations of different foods.
@meghamind
You got that right!

@entomom. Please accept my most sincere apologies. I didn’t know the no politics policy on CC. Now I’m aware!!! :smiley:

Maybe if we all end up at Yale, we can have a vegetarian cooking club. :D

If I go to Princeton or Amherst, I’ll just join the vegetarian eating co-ops.

Basically my top three schools all support my vegetarianism. Obviously it’s a sign I’ll go to one. Obviously. :D

I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I’m new to CC and curious: what are your reasons for wanting to choose Yale over schools like Harvard or Princeton?

@EtiquetteOfWar I’m applying to Harvard and Yale… I chose them over Princeton because Princeton doesn’t allow double majors. I prefer Yale to Harvard, I think, because I’ve spent a couple days every year of high school on their campus for mock trial competitions, and everyone I’ve met is just so nice, and I feel like it generally has a more “chill” feeling than Harvard, while still having pretty much equally incredible academics. Also, Yale has the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, and I want to be a librarian/archivist/work in a museum and deal with book restoration/conservation or something like that, and Beinecke would be a great outlet for that.

Also, one of the three famous alumni from my school, who is also my favourite alumnus, was a map thief who was caught at Beinecke, so that’s a cool connection. :D

@LAMuniv I find it funny that you admire a map thief, hahaha.

@midnightdreary It’s not so much that I admire him, but he’s just a prime example of the random types of “famous” people my school produces. He has the same last name as one of my best friends, and we’ve heard that he was creepily like my friend, but there is no known relation between the two. He’s kind of like a meme at my school.

2 more days, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :((

@EtiquetteOfWar I actually prefer Princeton Yale…haha…I’m kind of in love with Princeton. I prefer its location, its relative conservatism, and its psychology department. Then again, I’ve researched Princeton a lot more than Yale and only visited the former, so I suppose it’s possible I’d prefer Yale. I prefer Yale to Harvard and Dartmouth because I actually do like its urban setting (although I love Cambridge and Boston, I like the idea of living in a less college-concentrated city), its friendlier nature (than Harvard) and its academic focus (in comparison to Dartmouth). Plus I loooved my Yale interviewer and she basically convinced me that it’s the best place ever. :D

@EtiquetteOfWar
I applied to Harvard, Yale, Columbia instead of Princeton because Princeton is not the best fit for me. Like LaMuniv said, they don’t allow double majors and they are overall lacking in interdisciplinary majors that are huge at Harvard and Yale. As a prospective premed, Princeton is not comparable to Harvard and Yale because it does not have many large hospitals close by or a Medical School affiliation. Every single school I applied to had a Medical School affiliated with it as well as several large scale hospitals/research labs close by.
