^ lol perfect!!

@Mike Sounds good to me. Not shady at all

step 7: use worldâs resources to construct time machine
step 8: go back in time and force yale to let us all in.

o:

@haiku

My head already hurts and is confused from exams and anxiety⊠Thatâs an interesting catch-22 thoughâŠ

It is becoming impossible to focus on anything else >.< Is the first page after we log in the admissions decision?

^^^
apparently yes.

Will you guys be thinking about Yale grad school if you all are denied, or will you bear a grudge on Y forever?

I hope I come on here tomorrow after 5 and weâve all gotten in! One day more (why thank you, Les Mis cast)!

I canât do my AP Gov homework I just canât concentrate. I changed my Eli account password just in case though because I canât tell if my parents were joking or not.
Iâm actually thankful tomorrow I have work until 7 PM, because by then everyone will already know, the site wonât be backed up, and I can gauge whether or not I get accepted based on the Pledge thread results⊠somewhat

I may look at everyone elseâs decisions also b4 checking mine. It adds suspense lol

FSU was very specific on their website⊠you may access your decision online at 12:01am on Dec 16th. Even still, it was already online yesterday. So why couldnât Yale simply let the bulldog out of the kennel early too? :)

It would set a precedent and CCers in following years will go crazy

You will all get in!

Marioandluigi: In my Dâs case, she is expecting a Deferral. If so, it will not change her opinion of Yale, but it will alter her perception that she and Yale are well-matched for each other. If a school has a # of weeks to review your candidacy and remains unsure about you⊠deferring the decision to the RD round, where it gets even more competitive (only 5% accepted then)⊠it is hard not to then question whether you are fated for such a path. With only a 1 in 20 chance of turning a deferral into an acceptance, my D would then be focusing her hopes and energy on gaining admission to Brown, Columbia or Princeton. She would still consider Yale, if accepted RD, but the magic would have faded by then unfortunately. Thatâs her take on it anyhowâŠ

Super nervous. Seriously hoping for an acceptance because it would mean the world to me, but definitely expecting a rejection. I think the best way to calm your nerves is to know for certain that youâre going to SOME good school next fall! In the long run it doesnât really matter which one, and how the experience goes and what you make of it depends entirely and completely on you. I donât have that certainty - because Iâm an international student with serious financial issues - but I know Iâll figure it out somehow no matter what happens. So keep that in mind, regardless of the outcome!

Just remember that many EA students get in Regular decision. My recollection is that when I sorted through statistics from various sources, the total number of students that âapplied earlyâ that got in early, was only 2/3 of the total of early applicants that EVENTUALLY get in.

That is, another 300-350 (1/3 of the total of about 1,000 that eventually get in, that applied early) get in regular, in addition to the 650-700 that get in early. It seems like Harvard just let them all in early this year (about 1,000) rather than waiting for regular.

That seems like a better solution to me. It would definitely increase yield! I donât think deferring a lot of people who will eventually get accepted is good for the school

Hopefully Yale follows in Harvardâs lead. 21% acceptance would be awesome :)

If really makes me shudder to think about how hard it will be to get into harvard during RD

I think the people solely applying RD will have around the same chance. Harvard used to accept 17-18% SCEA. Some applicants that were deferred would then be accepted in March. I hope they are trying to accept more people in EA, defer less, and consequently accept less EA applicants in the RD round. This would give RD applicants the same chance but will allow more people to have decisions in December rather than a deferral and then admittance.
