Slightly encouraging…?

Just got notified for an interview! Like many people on this thread, I thought I was almost hopeless to get one since there’s only about 10 days left before Dec 1, the date when Yale stops receiving interview reports. So I’d say everything can still happen; just stay hopeful and wait!
I’m from China by the way :)

is there anyone who hasn’t received his/her Eli account yet??? ASAP

Are you sure you did everything correctly? From the people I know, everyone received it. Please contact the admissions ASAP.

@Eljui7 if you’re honestly this worried, just call the office of admissions. but I really doubt they skipped over your application—they probably just didn’t get to making an Eli account for you, yet.

Guys, how important are the SAT’s? I mean, for an international student? Would Yale accept someone who’s in 1800’s?

@TIJANAS Yes I’ve seen people getting accepted from Yale with SAT scores like in 1900s. Some of my friends(seniors) who had 2300+ SAT score got rejected. SAT scores are important but they aren’t the only thing people at Yale looking for. Hope this helps.

Yes! Thank you very much!!! Much appreciated

@TIJANAS Have u been contacted for an interview? I’m from Pakistan and I’m still waiting anxiously.

@minastirith nope, not yet. But, even if we don’t get an interview, it doesn’t make ANY difference. I just spoke to my friend who’s dad is on the board, and that’s what he said. Fingers crossed.

@TIJANAS Thanks!

Guys how do unis decide whether to give us a fee waiver or not? any ideas?

@minastirith

There is a section on the Common App where you can say you qualify for a fee waiver. Then you select the reason for your request which will be verified by your guidance counselor. From there, if you qualify, every college you apply to will have its fee waived when you send your application out.

School-specific fee waivers are different—some are given out at fairs, others via email, etc. It depends on the school.

Thanks @billymayshere Yale just approved my fee-waiver. It was pending until earlier today.

My Yale interview went amazing. I really enjoyed speaking with someone who attended Yale, and I hope it helps me in the admissions process. Good luck to all on the interviews!

@Dannnn what’s ur sats?

@TIJANAS - I took the ACT.

@Dannnn Ur score?

Hey to anyone who was wondering (well I was ), October ACT results are on the Eli Account. I was scared because I thought they might not come in time, but they did.

@emenya Yale allows November SAT as well and the fact that Nov SAT results release on 25th shows that all of the testing results should be on our Eli accounts by 25th, I guess.
