@blueintheeyes thanks for replying. I didn’t call college board, but they sent out my scores today.

If we haven’t been contacted for an interview yet, will we get an interview at all?

I’m not contacted for an interview either even if I live in CT area. Do I need to be worried!!!

@premedbound15 where r u from though?

I’m from the midwest… so not really expecting an interview.

Multiple times in this thread, people (including actual interviewers) mentioned that getting a Yale interview depends only on how fast Yale processes your application and forwards your name to your local interview director. I guess we shouldn’t be worried, yet I still have a few questions concerning this process (since I, too, want an interview Does Yale forward names only after they review your entire application? And does the order in which they review applications depend on how soon you yourself submitted your application? If so, doesn’t mean it’ll be better to submit earlier (if you want an interview) ?

I’m not sure if the date you submit matters. I submitted mine November 1st and got an interview request November 3rd. I’m not sure of their method but nobody should worry at all :)

Wow, where do you live @DaisyBlue?

Submitted mine 31th, yet I’m international

I thought this was an interesting read from the Yale Daily News this week about the new virtual interview program for this year. It doesn’t give any real expectations about likelihood of getting an interview in different places, but it does imply that the interview is seriously considered by the admissions committee.

I live in L.A. so there are probably a lot of Yale alumni here @ProximaCentauri

If you are missing your Eli account, check your spam folder! That is where my email was. I do have another question though, if my guidance counselor faxed my ACT score on Friday, November 7 when will my Eli account show that they received my scores?

Regarding the article VSG, I’d feel uncomfortable with an online interview. I agree with the sentiments of the Kenyan student. However, I would take any kind of interview over no interview! :)

I submitted Common App and Yale Essays on Nov 1 and still haven’t received details to my Eli account. I checked spam folder too Not even there. Should I be worried?

Don’t be worried @Hephaestus! Yale says it can take up to 3 weeks to get an eli account.
I have a question…is self reporting AP scores enough or should I send them?

@DaisyBlue Sending the actual AP score report is completely useless because it gets sent directly to the registrar and it doesn’t even get forwarded to the Admissions Office. So even if you send it, the Admissions Committee won’t see it. The score report only comes in handy once you actually get in and you’re trying to advance to higher-level courses. Self-reporting is recommended!

Anyone here applying from northern Virginia? Do you know how likely it is we’ll get interviews?

^ I’m also applying from the DMV. The Yale Club here is pretty active, and I’ve already scheduled mine, so I think its very likely you will be getting an interview.

Hey all! I uploaded my application on October 31st - do you know when they’ll send out interview notices?

I’m really excited to get an interview with alumni.

Good luck other SCEA applicants and I hope to see you at Yale!

I got my Eli account today! Submitted on the first.

I submitted a week before the deadline, and I got an interview request today from an alumnus. I’ll update later, but it seems like it will be a very casual conversation in Starbucks, about 30-45 minutes. I’m very excited!
