Yale Class of 2020 applicants

@fiefitup Welcome! This thread is my support system. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without everyone here. Congratulations to your best friend! I know his/her acceptance can make you anxious, but just remember that no matter what happens, he/she is still your best friend and no one will compare you guys!

This thread seriously gives me something to check every hour, instead of checking my email for news from Yale.

Hey guys anyone wanna talk on facebook??

^There’s a public applicant page on Facebook, but it’s littered with Chance Mes and questions about SAT scores (you all are much more fun to talk to, hahah). I don’t use Facebook much, but if someone wanted to start a group chat on there, I’d totally join!

@strideforward , I can assure you that I wont get into Georgetown…cause I didn’t apply there!! Lol, GT was for Georgia Tech!!

And lol, definitely!! If we both end up getting into Yale, and you go to Yale, then ill also attend. (just to be besties with u) :))

Trying to study for finals, but all I can focus on is refreshing this thread and the ticking of my clock!! @-)

My only major on campus final is AP Calc, so I have almost nothing to distract me these last few days :)) here’s to a fun weekend

Just wanna get in now so I don’t have to worry about more college apps!

@zacle1234 don’t give up hope! The fact that they’ve tried to contact you three times seems like a good sign. Have you checked if your emails are going through? (could try contacting Google/yahoo/whichever email system you use user support)

I’m not applying early, but I am applying regular! Just thought I’d pop in and say good luck to everyone waiting on early results!!

@lilypippili Thanks, definitely need all I can get of it lol

Harvard had a record low acceptance rate this year for SCEA…

@APScholar18 Well, they also had a 4.3% increase in the pool, so it makes sense that the acceptance rate would be lower.

@aposnova how much did the Yale applicant pool change?

@apscholar18 pool dropped 0.6%. It’s such a negligible amount that I’m sure the acceptance rate will hover around the same number (750-800ish)

@ShawnLooch what was acceptance rate last year around 17%?

@APScholar18 16% I believe. I’m thinking there may be a slight nudge upward due to the lower number of applicants (hopefully!)

Thanks for ur encouragement @theleenbean
Hey guys let face with the most possible scenario: what will you do if u get a refer???
One more thing: I Will finish writing a book on February. Do u think it is still possible to send it to Yale and other RD school???

@ShawnLooch Oh please god, I hope that’s true xD

@zacle1234 tbh I’m just going to treat it as a rejection and focus on my other apps.

@zacle1234 , I’m probably gonna just apply to other schools! I don’t think you can send that in for early admission, as they have already made decisions. But, yeah, if you get deferred, then Def. send them! When one gets deferred, all they can really do is call the admission rep and ask them how they can improve their applications and improve them!!!
