Has anybody called and asked in regards to whether or not they are pulling off of the waitlist?
@GeeksActToo be the change you wish to see in the world
I’m extremely worried. I REALLY wish to go to Yale.
They still haven’t released their yield for this year. I want to know if there is a chance.
When do they typically release their yield? I know on last year’s thread people heard as soon as May 8th…
I know, that’s what’s gotten everyone on this thread anxious, haha. The fact that nothing’s really happened yet could either mean this thread is REALLY inactive or they’re still trying to figure something out.
I would expect initial notification on the 13th
do you guys know how we would find out about the yield rate?
Google. Always google.
I’m probably calling admissions tomorrow. It’s a shame that an international call costs SO much
thanks! I’ll also call them this week
I have it on 100% reliable source that this year’s yield is high and there will be little to no action off of the wait list. I’m sorry folks
sigh, here’s hoping that there will be atleast a “little”! Just curious, do you think that the “little” would correspond to much fewer than the 14 that got off last year? @T26E4
@GeeksActToo I had dinner with my area’s Asst Director of Admissions. He passed this news to me and other volunteers at a reception that followed. Frankly, I didn’t even know the number that came off of the WL last year. From his tone, I would think few if any at all for this year.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But I thought it’d be important to pass along.
@T26E4 Thanks for the info!
@T26E4 thanks for the info
So, did any of y’all who said you were going to call do so?
Couldn’t today. Probably will tomorrow.
Hi, several colleges have already begun their first wave of waitlist acceptances. Has anyone heard from Yale?
@krishdesai Nope. Again, has anyone called?
Lol this is so sad there’s like no hope
@texaspg asked elsewhere
I have a dim memory of having zero wait list actions previously. Don’t nail me down as to what years. It’s all about prediction algorithms, I suppose. Typically, Yale’s yield is in the hi 60s percent-wise. The Asst Director said this year broke into the low 70s percent-wise, overall.
Anecdotally, our area saw a huge jump in yield. Last year, my region had a disappointing 50% yield. This year… complete reversal. We had an 82% yield. Maybe this year, somehow Yale correctly made more offers to people for which Yale really was their first choice.
