then itās a no-brainer. you can put downpayment for a house for that kind of money.
I see a lot of waitlist spots opening elsewhere in May
Overall, very disappointed with the processā¦
Has phenomenal stats, guess Yale is focusing on checking those boxes.
Unfortunately again this year, at the threads for all the various highly selective schools, there have been many results for students that have ādone everything rightā that was in their power (4.0 U/W, 1600 SAT / 36 ACT, high class rank, great ECs/sports, etc.) - yet couldnāt be admitted to their top choices.
I hope your student has applied to a range of colleges and, once looking closely, will start finding many things to love at places that loved him.
My really strong ECās were speech and debate and my family responsibilities.
In speech I have qualified for the national tournament 4 times. I also have very high rankings: 1st in the nation in an event as well as three 1st state rankings. I also became a state champion in my event this year.
As for my family responsibilities, I take care of my siblings- one who happens to be neurodivergent. I oversee all of my brotherās speech and occupational therapies as well as his tutoring.
i was accepted!!!

Son also rejected from Yale. At least both got into Stanford! Excited to be a tree mom now.
Rejected. Had a mid January senior interview, and had the household verification form requested late January. Got into Harvard though so it all worked out. Very excited!
holy s-
bro theres no way you got rejected with those ECs ;-;
youāre like 30x overqualified
D23 committed to Yale! Good luck to all!
I just got an email for the waitlist (update). My son was rejected. Just wanted to let you guys know that at 3:01 pm we got yale waitlist update
Really sorry, but it makes sense. Yaleās target yield is 1550-1575; thereās already 1611 with registered NetIDs and thereās still a few people I know who havenāt been added to that tally yet. It seems they overshot yield by quite a bit this year.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am fine, i just posted in other forum that in the end we will all be in a place that is best for us. I wanted others to know that waitlist for yale came out for us today May 5 and it came as an email with an update asking us to log in in the portal.
Wishing all the very best.
Good luck to your son! Where is he headed? Is he waiting on any other WLs?
