yale, columbia, or upenn EA?

I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks!! (:

Yale is the only school listed with Early Action. The other two have Early Decision options but no EA.

about that, what is the difference? Isn’t it the same?

Early Action means that you still apply early, but you can still apply to other schools if you are accepted.

For example, if you apply EA to Yale and get in, you will be notified in December. However, even if you are accepted you can still apply to other places Regular Decision and ultimately decide to go somewhere else.

Early Decision means that if you are accepted in December, you must attend that school and withdraw all other applications.

But I went to Yale’s website and it said if accepted, I have to attend. Then I went to UPenn and Columbia’s, and it stated the same thing.

You are wrong needstostudy. If you are accepted to Yale SCEA, you do not have to go.

Just checked the website, and you are right. But you still cannot apply to other schools EA or ED, which is a bummer… Lol. Sorry for the trouble.

I believe you can apply to as many schools EA as you want…

Yale has single choice early action so you can apply early only for them

Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford are “single choice” early action meaning if you apply to one of those you cannot apply anywhere else early action or early decision

Oh, so if it said SINGLE CHOICE, I only apply to that school. But if I doesn’t, I could apply to more? That’s pretty good!! (:

You have to check the rules of each school. Note, you can never apply early decision (the binding option) to more than one college. However, most early decision schools allow you to apply early action elsewhere; also, most early action schools allow you to apply early action or early decision elsewhere but some do not allow you to apply early decision elsewhere. In any event, check the rules of each college to which you intend to apply before doing so because they do not accept “I didn’t bother to read the rule” as an excuse for disregarding one of their application rules.

okay, I get it. Time to do my research!! (: Thanks guys!!
