Yale Commencement Housing - Has anyone stayed in the colleges?

Just received the information package on next spring's commencement. They offer the option of staying in the residential colleges for $140/per person/ for 3 nights.

Has anyone ever stayed in the colleges for commencement weekend? What was your experience like?

I have done one commencement in Old Campus housing and many reunions in the residential colleges and would never do it differently. For commencement, my wife an I shared a five bedroom suite with another family (husband wife two children). My wife and I each had a separate single bedrooms. I don't remember seeing the other occupants more than a few times the entire weekend. The most significant potential irritants would be lack of air-conditioning if it is an especially warm weekend, and/or noise. Parking is not particularly convenient, but can be dealt with easily with a little knowledge/planning. Be prepared to share bathroom facilities, but this is no big deal IMHO. The big upside is being right on campus and cost.

Can only comment from reunion experiences. Agree with njdad, but add that bathroom cleanliness may not be up to your personal standards if they are high. Also, the sheets, pillows, and blankets provided are slightly sketchy, especially the blankets.
