Yale Computer Science?

Hi, I was just wondering if there were any current/past/upcoming Yale Computer Science students or people who have had experience with Yale CS that could give me any input on how good the department currently is (i.e. courses/professors, research opportunities, ability to prepare a student for graduate school/industry). I know recently it’s been criticized for its lack of improvement but I have recently read about new hiring/improvements within Yale CS specifically so anyone with any experience with Yale CS who can share their experiences would be appreciated. Just for reference, I’ve been admitted to Yale’s Class of 2020 and am looking to pursue CS.

DS recently decided on CS as a major, probably as part of a double-major with Math. He is currently a sophomore. He has had no shortage of research opportunities, time with professors, and has an interesting and lucrative summer internship lined up. He feels that, if you are interested in Computer Science, with the emphasis on Science (i.e. theory), Yale has a lot to offer; if you’re interested in learning a bunch of languages, making snazzy web sites, etc., you can probably do better elsewhere.

Having had two of my children graduate from Yale with CS degrees within the past few years, I can say they had no problem landing wonderful summer internships and great jobs in the industry. And, they both enjoyed Yale immensely.
