<p>Hey, for all of you applying regular (not me), I just saw this on the website and thought you might like a heads-up.</p>

<p>"Holiday Closing and Application Deadline
The admissions office will close for the holiday at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22 and will re-open at 8:30 AM on Monday, January 3. We anticipate that it will take us quite some time after January 3 to respond to the electronic mail messages that are sent while we are closed. If you have questions during this period, we encourage you to consult the application instructions.</p>

<p>In order to accommodate students who may encounter problems submitting their application online over the holiday, we will extend the deadline for online submission, and the postmark deadline for paper submission, until January 4.</p>

<p>I wish the deadlines were extended for other colleges. I still have 5 applications to send in. (This includes writing the essays.)</p>

<p>Yale clearly wants to maximize the number of applications, and has extended the filing deadline, just as it does every year.</p>

<p>Good luck, suburbian. What schools are you applying to? I'm semi-lucky because most of my schools are Common App or have similar applications.</p>

<p>Brown: essay on science major, essay for PLME
Amherst: essay on response to a certain quotes, ex. science shows the beauty of life (simplified)
Princeton: the two additional short essays
Harvard: "optional" additional essay (will use a recycled essay if I run out of time)
UChicago: essay on peculiarities w/in my own personal language
I have a very exciting weekend coming up, haha!</p>

<p>suburbian: somehow, we're doing the same essays, except that i have to write some essays for upenn as well. isn't that interesting....haha</p>

<p>I'm applying to Penn too, but I'm just using my personal statement for the 'page 217 of your autobiography' question (with some random, irrelevant bits added on top and bottom so it fills a page). It's a little sketchy, but if you run out of time....</p>
