Yale Deferred?

<p>but what percent of the deferred SCEA applicants get accepted?</p>

<p>Yale doesn’t release those statistics.</p>

<p>Personally, I feel like a higher percentage of deferred applicants than of RD applicants are ultimately accepted.</p>

<p>With the possibility of an unrepresentative sampling error, Silverturtle has said it appears as though SCEA deferrals do as well as RD applicants with his exhaustive CC analysis. One interesting recent discussion hypothesized that some likely admits are deferred just to shift more acceptances into the RD round.</p>

<p>Admissions officers send small handwritten notes to accepted students from their regions, and I’ve heard many stories of admissions officers writing to deferred students after they were accepted RD to say that they really wanted to let them in early but just couldn’t due to a lack of space…</p>
