Yale EA Chances

<p>Hi,
I'm not usually the kind of person to do these sorts of things, but I figured might as well see what CC's opinion is (even though this will likely not affect my decision to apply or not). Thanks for doing this for me!</p>

<p>Here's a summary:</p>

<p>ACT: 36C (36E, 36M, 36R, 36S, 10W (34 E/W))
SAT II: 760 Math II, 750 US History
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
Course Load: it's hard to explain how my school works, but I took all the hardest classes, and some kids who have taken easier classes than me in past years have been accepted to yale</p>

<p>Extracurriculars</p>

<p>weekly newspaper (writer 9-11, Editor-in-Chief 12th)
Varsity lacrosse ( Varsity 9-12, captain 11/12, League all-star 10, 11) (unfortunately no looks from D1)
Varsity basketball (Varsity junior year, JV sophomore, Freshman team)
Peer writing tutor
Clothing Design and Distribution committee (President)
Freshman student orientation leader (9,10,11 (can't do it senior year))</p>

<p>Job/Work Experience: Lifeguard for 2 years
Volunteer/Community service: 150 hours, Volunteered for 2 weeks in Africa (parents are from there, although I'm white)
Summer Activities: lifeguard and worked as waiter at restaurant, and had an internship at local newspaper. Last summer traveled to Africa to do my community service</p>

<p>@ravensfan14 - you are clearly a competitive candidate. Your academic record appears to be above reproach, and your ECs appear to be more than strong enough to show that you are a well rounded, dedicated student.</p>

<p>It will likely be the other parts of your application - essays, recommendations, interview, and the general impression you make - that will determine whether you are accepted or not.</p>
