Yale Early Action, 2007

Harvard and Princeton dropped their early decision programs this semester. Do you think that Yale will experience a surge in early action applications because of this, and if so, do you think it'd be best not to "waste" my early action application on it (as Yale's single choice)? I would have applied to Yale regardless of what Harvard and Princeton did, as I'm quite interested in the school, but I'm worried that its early action program will be too competitive.

Yes, they'll get a surge.
As will other elite EA schools: MIT, Chicago, GTown, Stanford
But, just based on how Yale will be the only school of the big 3 (HYP) left with an Early system, it'll get the biggest surge.

Yale's gonna have some major thinking to do...they, for the first time ever, are going to lose a lot of their EA admits to RD admits at H and P....so they might have to go waitlist crazy.

If it's absolutely your first choice, still apply SCEA.
