Where else???

Damn mate, I wish I knew the answer. Problem is, I am also IB Diploma candidate, and I have really no clue what IB you should have in order to impress comissions.

But I think 43/45 is very, very solid. I would say extremely good.

Not sure though, seems like you have good chances. I would retake SAT and manage to get 2300+(not THAT hard)

thanks for the reply!! Don’t have time to take it again unfortunately hope they won’t kill me for the SAT’s… thanks though!! Good luck with the IB it’s tough :)

Btw where are you from? I agree, IB is extremely difficult, bad thing no one recognizes that :D

Do you know about someone else applying and getting to top US schools with IB diploma? Seems like no one ever did( I have googled)…

Yale has non-binding SCEA, not ED.

Hahah you can say that again!!
I live in Greece, last year 9-10 people i know from Greece went to Ivies with IB Diploma though one of them who’s at yale now said he met a guy who got in with certificate!!My counselor keeps insisting that the IB gives us an ‘edge’ but im not so sure! where are from??

@silverturtle yeah i know thats what i meant sorryy :stuck_out_tongue: still any chance ??

Well I am from Czech Republic attending British International school. I mean IB is so hard!

Do you know these guys IB points!? Please, I am so curious. I HOPE IB gives edge. Btw, when you applied or going to, what kind of transcript they asked you? What if my year 3 grades(IGCSE year) were quite bad(couple of B’s and C’s), however IGCSE were great?

emm most of them ended up with 39+ and where predicted over 40! I applied this year and they asked me for my IGCSE’s I had all A’s… I think they send those and the school grades so if you have great IGCSE’s and mediocre school grades they should cancel out but try to not to do that again :)

Damn mate if this is all true I might stand a chance!:)))

I was so much worried that IB is not recognized in a way how hard it is, so I thought they would ask for 43/44/45, which is almost impossible to achieve.

Anyway, thanks a lot for answers, seems like you are in for sure in at least 1 IVY. :)

IB always looks good, and with your extracurriculars you have decent chances at all of them. very nice work, i wish my school had an IB program :/

dlambi out of some of the top applicants at my school to Ivies, you are surely if not better than their stats as in you seem more interesting and bring a different lifestyle and if your essays are superb which I am assuming they are you should be a strong candidate! Those are some great schools you are applying to and you had a ‘anything else’ underneath the list… are you looking for a couple other schools to apply to? If you want some warmer weather check out Duke or Stanford… if you really only want out east I think you should also look at U. Penn or maybe Middlebury if you like Amherst… maybe even Cornell- (like Dartmouth). Tufts is more similar to Brown than any other ivy and if you like the Boston Area you can look at BC and MIT as well. just some suggestions!

@britta 852 thanks so much for the suggestion I’ll keep them in mind!!

I don’t know much about IB programs because my school and surrounding schools doesn’t offer them, but I do think that you have a great chance.
Your scores are solid, especially your 43/45.
I addition, you have many distinctions with your other exams, which is always a plus.
Your ECs are well rounded too.
I think you have a good chance. Good Luck!
You have a good chance at the rest of your schools, especially Harvard being a legacy and JHU and Amherst will probably love you.

Good Luck!!!

—bump----

I think it’s a high reach. Good luck though!

–bumpppp–

I think Yale is a mid reach for you. It’s just so difficult to predict. A higher SAT score would help for your RD schools, and I would think you’d get into 2-3 of the elite schools on your list. You’ve worked really hard it seems, and I hope it all pans out for you. I wish you the best of luck! :)
