Yale Eli Whitney Program Fall 2019!!

Air force vet here, I decided to apply this year. I applied and got into Brown last year but I’ve decided to try to get into Yale this year for a list of reasons. I think my chances are hampered because I’ve already got into Brown, but i’m going to try anyway.

Definitely post if anyone on here gets an interview!

Good luck to all.

No interview here, at least not yet!

My sense (and hope) is that the lucky few won’t hear back next week. I think they are giving this last week to collect various missing materials, and we will start hearing next week. That seemed to be the case for last year.

*until next week, apologies

Anxiously hoping for a call. I wonder if every person who gets an interview gets accepted (unless they major fail the interview).

If you haven’t done so already, most Universities provide a place to update your application materials including resume.

Hey guys! I applied to Brown’s RUE Program, Columbia GS, Cornell, Loyola Chicago, Princeton, Stanford, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania (NOT the LPS program), Williams College, and Yale’s Eli Whitney Program.

Note: I received a rejection letter from Williams College today.

I am 41 years old, married to a 100% service-connected disabled veteran, and have no kids. I work as a VA Caregiver and hold a professional job. I dropped out of high school and got a GED. I attempted to go to college on 4 separate occasions and I did very poorly or dropped out each time. I started back to school 2 years ago and finished my associates degree in December 2018 at a local community college. I graduated magna cum laude (3.868 out of 4.00 GPA) on December 16, 2018.

Also, I did not take the SAT or ACT. As was advised by admission reps at Princeton and Stanford, I wrote a formal request to all schools that required standardized test scores requesting my application be considered in its incomplete status.

Here is a summary of my time at my community college. Sorry this is so long, but I have seen other threads where everything is listed, so I thought I would just put this all out there.

I got an interview!!! Anyone else?

Congratulations @RainbowBritey ! I love hearing the updates.

@RainbowBritey Congratulations! Did you receive an email or phone call? How exciting.

@mamabear336 an email request, my husband got one too in the same format. The interview window is a couple of weeks out so they may still be sending out requests.

@JellyPeeps your stats and story are very similar to mine. I didn’t think you could apply for the Jack Kent Scholarship if you’ve already college previously. I wanted to apply to it, but I went to a state school 10 years ago. It’s sad since now I’m at a community college and have worked very hard and have a 4.0. I have been trying to find scholarships to apply to but it doesn’t seem like I fit under any category.

@IndirectProofs I have only attended community colleges. So if you attended a four-year school, you would not be eligible.

Also, only 4 of my applications show complete, but 6 are actually complete. With so many former schools, I have been chasing transcripts for weeks. I have 3 schools that have transcripts en route (Brown, Loyola, and Yale). But, hopefully they have them in the next week.

Also, another thing about scholarships, I feel really fortunate to have applied to this one (my CC didn’t really encourage me to do that or even apply to summer research) because I haven’y found many that I am a fit for. And most seem geared toward much younger students and not nontraditional students.

@JellyPeeps okay that makes sense. I know how you feel about transcripts. I’m not sure if you ordered them by mail or online, but if you order by mail and it doesn’t get there for a long time, make sure to call the school you ordered it from. I had one missing transcript and it turns out I didn’t sign the request form so I had to reorder it. Luckily the schools got it after that.

I love following this thread, especially since I might reapply for 2020. I didn’t apply this cycle.

The interview assignments have not yet been completed. We are scheduling them on a rolling basis throughout the month of April. — This what I got from admissions when i reached out! Fingers crossed

Im helping a friend apply here and they just got an interview invite yesterday. Any information on the proportion of interviewees to acceptance slots?

I haven’t heard anything yet, but i’m putting off worrying about it until a week from today at least ?

congratulations!!! @RainbowBritey do you mind if I ask your stats?
