Yale Eli Whitney Students 2018

My stomach can’t stay calm with this waiting game…

It was someone from the Yale Transfer thread who is a vet, and all he said was that he wasn’t sure if they were contacting him because he’s a good fit for the Eli Whitney Program. I’m assuming that that’s what it was about.

I know what you mean. I’m praying like everyday I get an interview. Like I said before, I’ve been wanting to get back into school for SO long. It is a huge deal for me.

Yale has seen record numbers of applications this year, over 35,000. I would expect that admissions across programs have been very busy. I don’t think it would be unreasonable to expect a delay in interview emails being sent out when compared to previous years.

@IndirectProofs Well from what I can tell, the individual you speak of must be exceptional! They applied as a transfer applicant and are getting an interview. According to the Transfer Applicant website, they don’t usually give interviews for transfer applicants, so it may be they are being considered for the Eli Whitney Program, which would be outstanding if they get in!

I’m a veteran and I haven’t received any emails about interviews. Although, I may also have just not done a well enough job on my application to be competitive. Which would be to bad, Yale has some really nice labs!

The last email I got from admissions said that interview assignments would be occurring on a rolling basis for the next 4 weeks. That was on the 25th of March, so I expect that if by the 20th I haven’t received anything, then time to start preparing for next years application.

I was wrong, this person I referred to is in fact getting considered for transfer, not Eli Whitney even though he is a vet. Sorry for the mix up. So it does indeed look like they have not started interviews for us yet.

@Loftboy4U Did you apply as a transfer? I remember you mentioned your midterm report was requested. Transfers are required to send in midterms.
EWSP interviews generally take place at the end of April and early May. I think a reasonable time to expect hearing from them would be around the 20th.

I read in previous years of candidates being contacted for interviews the first week of April…idk if that means we are out already, but it does raise some concern… if any of us gets a call I hope we let the others know…

No it doesn’t mean that at all. It is very common for applicants (based on previous threads) to get contacted the second and third week of April. I also think they might do the veterans first; since they are priority.

@PhillipPullman If I do get an interview, I will post in the thread.

Same

I just got contacted for an interview

@Lalabunny did they email or call you? Thanks for letting us know.

They emailed me

@Lalabunny Congrats! Are you a veteran?

@ butfirstcoffee Thank you  I am not a veteran. I applied as a transfer student

Wait, so you’re not an Eli Whitney Candidate?

or applicant I should say.

I am

The Eli Whitney Students Program is different from the transfer program, that’s why I was confused.

I was offered an interview today also. Congrats @Lalabunny on getting offered an interview!
