Does anyone know how many Yale undergraduate engineers are accepted each year, and how many engineering majors are there in the entire college?

1/3 of Yale’s undergrads major in science & engineering. There’s a 1:1 faculty/student ratio in the engineering majors, so that means very few students.

There are about 60-70 engineers in each class

GG: no engineers are accepted: just students into Yale college. Some have indicated that Engineering may be a prospective major. As topspin above states, there seems to be 60-70 engineers who graduate each year – this obviously is different than what entering freshmen said.

yale doesn’t admit quotas according to prospective majors.

The link I posted shows an annual average of 51 graduates in Engineering and Applied Sciences fields over the past nine years with a range of 37 to 63. And about 18% of graduates have degrees in biological or physical sciences. But, as T26E4 has indicated, it is difficult to know how this would affect admissions chances. Indicated majors of prospective students are very apt to change by graduation and are probably play a very small role in admissions decisions. It would, however, look odd to submit an application indicating an intent to study engineering without a transcript and outside activities evidencing an interest and talent in science and mathematics.
