Hi,
I really like Yale, but Yale did not give me much aid.
I called Yale and they told me specifically that they do not match other school's aid but recommended that I send them Stanford's and Princeton's aid.

Princeton's aid is the best so far. Stanford expects me to pay double Princeton's EFC and Yale expects me to pay $10,000 more than Princeton with $4,400 self help.

I sent Stanford a letter with a copy of Princeton's aid; Stanford said that they will get back to me through email if they will revise the aid. (I think they'll give me more money).

After getting the revised and improved Stanford aid, I was going to show Yale Princeton's aid and Stanford's aid so that Yale would give me more aid.

However, the problem is... Stanford said that it might take a week or two weeks for them to review my aid.
Should I contact Yale now with the Stanford's and Princeton's fin aid package or wait until the revised Stanford package which would make Yale have to pay more...

If I show them the orginal package now, I am afriad Yale will match Stanford's orginial aid... and if Stanford gives me more money from the review, I won't have any additional financial circumstances to tell Yale besides telling Yale that Stanford is giving me more money (and they said they won't consider that into consideration).

So what should I do? Wait for Stanford's increased aid or talk to Yale now with hopes that it will give me more aid than Stanford and not match Stanford's aid?

Should I put on the Stanford's original fin aid that Stanford is currently doing a financial review and will probably give me more money? Do you think that will work?

How long does a financial review normally take?

It seems that if Stanford increases your financial aid, it will probably only meet Princeton's package. If you send the Yale FA office the Princeton and Stanford aid information, wouldn't it be more likely for them to adjust their offer to meet the higher of the other two schools' offers (Princeton's), which would be the same even if you sent the reevaluated Stanford aid package? That said, I do understand that it might be more influential if Princeton and Stanford both offered you a much higher amount of aid. Then again, that might not matter.

If I were in your situation I would go ahead and send Yale the aid information from Stanford (as-is) and Princeton, and just tell them that Stanford may be adjusting their offer. If and when Stanford sends you the new offer via email, I'd forward it to your financial aid officer at Yale.

btw: If you do decide to wait until you get your new Stanford offer before sending the Stanford and Princeton information to the Yale Financial Aid office, you would still have a week and a half until the May 1st deadline for the Yale FA officer to reevaluate the offer and consider sending you a new package (assuming Stanford take no more than two weeks). Tell the Yale officer that you really really want to go to Yale and you need to hear back from him or her ASAP so that you can weigh your options before making the final decision on May 1st. That should do the trick.

I'm normally not a patient person, but is patience the key? Should I wait, or should I tell Yale that Stanford is readjusting the financial aid and talk to them during Bulldog days.

Would it be better to talk to them in person, rather than by fax and phone? I think I could wait until Bulldog days and hope that Stanford will readjust it by then...
