I'm interested in applying to Yale EA. One, how do I request for an interview? And two, for those of you who have had interviews/been accepted to Yale...what are the types of things the alumni ask? Have these alumni already read your application when they interview you? What should Yale hopefuls be prepared for?

you don't request for an interview, usually (unless you plan to visit campus). an alumni will call you if there is one in your area. interviews aren't necessary to be accepted. i was accepted without one.

hey congratulations!!! :D can you pm/ post you stats and extracuriculars? also, if you're comfortable, would you mind if i knew your essay topics/essays? ive also been really worried about my SAT score...haha do you think a 2190 is enough for Yale, or is a 2300 a must?

This is the site where you schedule an on-campus interview. You can book here for a summer slot or wait for the fall slots to become available. If you can't make it to the campus, wait and see if Yale offers you an alumni interview. However, as rd31 mentioned, interviews are not required for admission. Good luck!

Alumni interviewers know only your contact info, your HS, and possible major if indicated. Nothing else. There's a useful thread on this Yale forum: I think it's called RD interviews or something like that.

Off memory, they want all EA reports due by end of Nov. But I recall sending one in after the deadline -- 1st week of Dec I believe. He was deferred but eventually admitted.

I've heard different stories about Yale interviews. There have been those interviewers that have a typed up list, and there have been the cool interviewers who just make it a conversation. It really depends.

I didn't have an interviewer in my area for some reason. Well, my friend got one, but she didn't get accepted. So I might be lucky that I didn't get one since I got in.
