Yale Interview... HELP!

I just got off the phone with my Yale interviewer, and managed to create a huge dilemma for myself over the course of the conversation. I scheduled it for next week around 3:30 at my school’s library, but just realized that 3:30 at the school library is probably the library’s busiest time of day, and there aren’t any private rooms, etc. inside it. I don’t want to call to reschedule, since I don’t want him to think I haven’t made the interview a priority, but I also don’t want him to get there and for it to be incredibly noisy/loud. I thought about calling and changing the location to Starbucks, but I feel like that’s a bit of a gamble, as it could get noisy there as well. What should I do?!! Do I call and reschedule/change location, or do I pray for the best and leave the interview as scheduled? If I call to change the location, any recommendations on where/when to do the interview instead?

Any comments/help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks

Call to change the time or location. Starbucks is a normal location. You’re overthinking this extremely.

I interview for Yale. If you had called me and said: “Ooops. I made a mistake. 3:30 at my library isn’t a good time/location. Can we switch to Starbucks at 3:45 instead?” I’d thank you and said yes.

Easy peasy.

I do interviews for another school and I would rather that you call me and ask if it was possible to reschedule as you realize it will be busy at the library. Then propose some other times.

Definitely call and reschedule or at least change the place. You should be somewhere you feel comfortable. When we set our date and time, I always tell the applicant to feel free to call me if they need to change. You all are high school students and things come up - a test, an extra assignment, mom won’t let you use the car, etc. We are parents ourselves, we understand. Make the call. Good luck!!
