Yale Interview Questions

I have an interview with a Yale alum tomorrow (I applied EA), and I was wondering two things-
1.) Do the alumnae receive your application and your essays?
and 2.) Does Yale usually narrow down applicants that they proceed to interview, or do they just interview as many EA applicants as they can?

Thank you so much :)

Last year, D was an EA applicant. She had on-campus interview in the summer and alum interview in November. I do not believe that they did any narrowing before interviews nor do I believe that the interviewer had her application/essays.

This thread has a lot of good information in it: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/283957-rd-applicants-interview-advice.html

1) never
2) no pre-sorting. when your app is complete and rec’d by New Haven, your contact info is forwarded to the alumni network. In all likelihood nothing in your file has probably even been read by human eyes by the time you get called for an interview. The goal is to interview everyone.
