So i just got my acceptance into the Yale Ivy Scholars Program. The dilemma I face is that I have been accepted into both the Global Leaders program and the Hertog Program in American Politics. I was wondering what you guys thought of which program is better in general, which one would be more of an experience, and which one would look better/more prestigious on a college application.

I am a rising senior, if that makes a difference. I kinda don't want to be in a program with rising sophomores (Global Leaders) because I want to be challenged by those who are academically my equals. Furthermore, I don't really want to be in a program with ~100 other kids (Global Leaders). In that regard, Hertog is better. However, Hertog has its own problems as well.

I was wondering what you guys thought on the issue. I know that these are new programs offered by Yale Ivy Scholars. However, any information that may guide me in the right direction is welcomed.

I’m sorry, maybe you misunderstood. Both the Global Leaders program and the Hertog Program in American Politics are offered at Yale through the Yale Ivy Scholars Program. I was asking opinions on which one is a better “experience”.

Well part of the focus of the program in one developing persuasive writing skills and learning about American political structure. None of those particularly interest me, although the rest of the program in down my alley.

Hi. I’m a freshman and will be a rising sophomore this summer. I was thinking of applying to the Ivy Scholar APPLE program. Has anyone done it? What was the experience like (living situation, workload, intensity, etc.)? Do you think it will be too intense for me as a freshman? I think I could get it, but the question is if I will go.
