Yale Likely ?

@sojuicy, Are you from CT as well? Did you apply for STEM Major ?

congrats sojuicy! please see the link in post #5 of this thread.

@firstusajmo and @sojuicy if you guys dont mind saying, what were your stats like and congrats btw

Don’t commit mass theft or initiate a coup and you’re a 2018er. Congrats, guys/girls.

Congratulations!! I was going to answer your question but looks like there’s no need. Since you’re a Yalie do you think you can chance me? Please check my post :)

Hmmm… I’m fairly certain if anyone who knows me uses CC then they’ll be able to guess who I am. But uhh I’ll just list major things below.

SAT: 2350 800/800/750 Writing
SAT IIs: 800 Math II, 800 Chem, 750 Bio, APUSH Score so low that I’m going to save myself the embarrassment of disclosure
Rank: 3/346
GPA: Our system is kinda weird… 98.9?
Things that probably helped significantly: USAJMO Qualifier, Intel STS Semifinalist, National Science Bowl Qualifier, State Scioly medals, 4x AIME, Published Research Paper, Swimming stuff

Honestly though, I think my essays really helped me. I talked about things I really cared about and I think it showed. I did not imagine I was anywhere near the top 60-80 STEM applicants, and all I can say is I was really fortunate to have been chosen. I hope this kind of helps! Good luck :)

Don’t feel like disclosing too much for the sake of anonymity, but…

Similar SATs and GPA, USAJMO, and decent results in a few other olympiads.

So have they chosen all 100 people for the Yes weekend already ? wow. They only updated the system with the receipt of rec letters on Jan 17.

Congratulations @FirstUsajmo and @sojuicy!

@firstusajmo and @sojuicy congrats on this prestigious accomplishment!!- did you guys send any supplementary material or have any supplementary recs?

Wow, I got a call today from my admissions officer about my incoming likely letter. This is very exciting!! Can’t wait for the weekend.

My intended major is chemistry or CS. I honestly didn’t think my science accomplishments were good enough to warrant a YES-W invitation, so I am pleasantly surprised!

You guys should join the Class of 2018 Facebook page.

Congrats @StudiousMaximus!!! Which state are you from/ do you know who you’re admission officer is??!

@Mike not sure if we can do that considering we’re not officially admitted.

@Studious great job! I remember you from the SIMR thread. You were quite the character ;)

@Bob I had my PI at the lab I worked in write a letter for me.

@bob: I’m from Virginia, and my admissions officer is Chelsea Allen.

@juicy: Thanks, you too! And yeah, things got a little out of hand on that thread…

Cool studious. I’m assuming they are still in progress with deciding on the top 100 for yes-w.

So far they have picked people with/without interviews

Does anyone know if Environmental Studies counts as a STEM major? And is it a commonly chosen major?

@studious, @juicy I also got a likely letter/call and we can join the facebook page! There’s one for all yale admits and another for YES-W admits

@bob1235 I submitted a research paper through slideroom, but I’m not sure if they really evaluated it.

Also, we can join the class of 2018 Facebook group! Well, I was accepted into it at least :)

Haha yeah, I was accepted into that group too. :)
