How well will a Yale undergrad math major do in the job market for Ibanking? Does anyone have any experience with this? What types of jobs can they expect? What GPA is considered to be enough?

If you’re at Yale you can get into IBanking completely independent of major. I’d imagine a 3.4-3.5 GPA would be sufficient to not get your resume thrown in the trash can.

Yale is definitely a target school, though perhaps not as much as Harvard or Wharton. Nonetheless, you should have no problem getting into banking with a math major. Recruiters know that Yale tends to inflate its GPA so I think you should shoot for something higher than a 3.4/3.5

Concur with above. Major doesn’t matter if you’re at a place like Yale, but they obviously won’t doubt your quantitative ability being a math major. Definitely go for math, that’s what I’m doing. You won’t use really use it in banking, but it really develops your ability to think analytically.
