Is it possible to go from a state school (say...UF) to an ivy league med school (such as yale)? How would a person go about doing this?

Yes, it is possible. Earn a very high GPA (3.8+), a high MCAT score (35+), and participate in relevant extracurriculars; doing these things will make you a competitive applicant for the most selective medical schools, regardless of your undergraduate institution. Getting into any medical school is a challenge for most students, however.
