Update us c:
@xbaknamx
@BarryA well, if it’s the same as last year then that’ll be the 23rd of March, so about 7 days to go
I contacted yale nus recently and they told me the results will be released in early april
https://www.yale-nus.edu.sg/eyw/ they’ve added a ton of new info here
If we are expecting to hear back in early April, then should we attempt to see if we can register for EYW which requires us to register by March 29?
@akrem111 @Changi17 Thanks for the update people!
@BarryA It’s only for people who’ve been accepted, plus last year some kids registered before they were accepted/rejected and YNC apparently got back to one of them and “kinda scolded” them (I don’t think it was anything serious haha but you can check last year’s forum to see). I think it’ll be like what @sghml9 said, that they’ll just push the EYW deadline back like they did for last year, so I’m gonna vote no BUT it’s up to you! If you do decide to register, do tell us what happens!
The last year’s batch did that o: (Signing up before decision results) But this year they changed it so you can’t sign up yet
@RayLiSingapore Oh, I didn’t know they changed it! The link is still there to sign-up on the site that @Changi17 has posted though? But I didn’t try to click on it so maybe it’s like once you log in it won’t let you actually register…
I was being anxious d: clicked it. It’ll route you to the application login page, but since I was currently logged then… It brought me to a page that said “Error, Registration for this event is inactive”
I heard its that last year the admissions team had to resort everything cause EYW is an admitted only event. But even those that didn’t get an interview signed up anyways d
They did it assuming that if they were able to register, it meant that they were admitted
@RayLiSingapore I see! Yeah I guess they changed it because of last year, and that means that we just have to wait now hahaha
hey guys,
I’ve noticed I made a mistake in my common app application
My class size is about 300 and I’m in the top 5% but I listed in the common app that it’s 25 and I’m the 4th
Do u think it’s late to correct it?
@akrem111 Im not familiar with the common app, do you still have access to this? https://apply.yale-nus.edu.sg/account/login?r=https%3a%2f%2fapply.yale-nus.edu.sg%2fapply%2fstatus
@RayLiSingapore yes
If you can login to that, there’s an option for additional materials, you could perhaps drop them an email to state you came across a mistake in your application, and that you’ll rectify it in the additional materials? I don’t think you’ll have anything to lose by doing that.
Although you might want to see what the others on the thread think too
@RayLiSingapore I’ve done as u said thanks
guys do u anyone with a 1360 who got in yale nus?
@akrem111 I know a person with SATs bellow 1300, so you’re fine, don’t worry.
@akrem111 also, a lot of applicants from China cannot submit SATs because they cannot take the SAT, also most Singaporeans submit their regular grades (A-levels, IB) instead of the SATs, unless their score is amazing which adds to the application. So the admissions doesn’t put too much weight on the SAT (I really hope not, because we’re in the same boat, and my score is worse than yours lol).
@momentousmeerkat did u get an inyerview?
Did everyone who got in last year got asked for additional financial aid documents, or am I just overthinking?
