What is the acceptance rate of shortlisted applicants (those offered an interview) at Yale-NUS College?
i’m curious too…!
Do applicants without an interview get in?
@Yashmittal2009 An interview is required, without it you cannot get in. I saw some posts of applicants not getting an interview being deferred, but supposedly you would still have to receive an interview in the next round to be considered.
About a fifth or sixth who are shortlisted get accepted.
Seems like such a small chance even after receiving an interview. Only time can tell at this point! Where did you find that out @Madeon?
Someone posted somewhere that they asked an admissions officer and 15-20% of applicants are shortlisted. Roughly 3-4% of applicants are accepted. So yeah, not the greatest odds haha
Yeah, it seems like the interview carries way more weight than for other colleges
Class of 2018: Acceptance rate was 3%
^^ Seems like it’s because the program is so small and a lot of kids just check off the NUS box as a what the heck thing to do. I’ll bet many of the kids are not really serious about going who did so and the interview is designed to weed them out. I may be wrong because, admittedly, I know nothing about Yale NUS eXcept for what I’ve read.
