Yale or Georgia Tech for Engineering?

So I have heard that Yale gives a different, wider perspective and more flexibility in its Engineering program, and the name carries quite a bit, but Georgia Tech has a much more established, higher ranked program, and is also significantly less expensive (15k vs 50k each year for me). I will probably undertake Mechanical Engineering as an undergrad, but am still unsure of anything beyond that. Any advice?

I would go to GT any day… Unless I was literally incredibly rich to the point where money played no role in my decision making process. Then, I would CONSIDER Yale.

It’s engineering and GT does it about as well as anyone. I don’t know Yale’s program, but do you need to spend an extra +85k to get whatever Yale might do better? Does money mean so little to your family?

This is a no brainer. For engineering and the price, definitely GT.

"…but do you need to spend an extra +85k…"

Look again, it’s an extra 140K!
