Yale or Penn? Reasons?

It depends what you want to study and what you want out of your college experience....but I'd apply to both and see if you still have a choice once the letters roll in. If you're thinking about doing early admission and you're torn, I'd go with Yale EA because it's nonbinding, then do Penn regular and then make your choice.

I chose Penn over Yale... Yale's requirements seemed really crazy-specific to me. Penn seemed far more flexible.

As posted in the Yale forum,

After being admitted to both last year, I had the same question. Both are great -- especially the Wharton School -- so I would recommend visiting before you apply and applying based on that "gut feeling."

In the end, I chose Penn.

Penn because people who go to Yale have this bizzare urge to make college confidential accounts for the sole purpose of going in the Penn forums and stating over and over again how much more prestigious Yale is than Penn. Do you really want to be with students who are so insecure?

Good reasoning. ;)

Devastating argument, Keynes.

Penn is cooler because it has the option of double majoring business / engineering. Furthermore, Wharton is better for business than Yale. Especially the graduate programs - an MBA from Wharton is equivalent to a Harvard MBA. Yale is great but not in Wharton's caliber. Furthermore, you'll be studying at an institution which was partly introduced by Benjamin Franklin himself - the man who recognized and lived the American Dream.

Though I attend a top engineering school, had I the option of going to Penn; I would choose it over MIT, Cal-tech, Columbia or Cornell.

jose----excellent decision on your behalf to choose Penn.

p.s. - Zephyr, go back to the Harvard forum and try to avoid kissing up to Byerly so much.

I'm pretty sure Penn has hotter girls too
