Yale or Stanford: most likely reach?

Stats:

International transfer student (Canada)
Sophomore
URM (black haitian)
gpa: 3.7/4.3
SATs: 2250
past hs transcripts: average. Weakest point.
Essays: Very good I think. Writing is my passion.
Recommendation: Glowing- my advertising teacher really, really liked me.
EC: Varied. All pertaining to sustainability, city politics and multiculturalism. College debate team (national silver last year) and marketing competitions.

I don't have much money to spend on admissions fees (and international students don't get fee waivers I'm told) so I'm really trying to pick my choices very carefully. Part of me wants to apply to Harvard even if I don't believe I have a big shot there; it's mostly just for the "never know if you don't try factor...."
As for choosing my reach I'm stuck between those two. I love both and would like to know which is a more likely reach and the overall better prospect for my profile.

Thanks in advance

Harvard is just as competitive as yale for transfers. Stanford is alson the same. Your shot would be equal at all 3.

Your chances at Yale, Standford and Harvard are about equal. Their transfer admit rates are around the 5-6% range -- they are extreme reaches for EVERYONE who wants to transfer.. From what I've heard, the 2 biggest factors will be a well developed reason why you want to attend that college and your current academic performance. Good luck to you.

Thanks. Though I've heard that Stanford was a bit more forgiving, grade-wise and placed more emphasis on intellectual curiosity, essay and personality.
