YALE or UPENN

Where is Penn? One may not know where New Haven is, but everybody knows Yale.

Should Yale vs. Penn a question?

"There is self-segregation, though, and this includes many races–African Americans, Asians, Indians, Latinos. It’s very evident just from eating at a dining hall. "

Isn’t it interesting how people of color “self segregate”? I suppose all that prior “self segregation” of let’s say NON people of color has nothing to do with it. Oh and I guess those frat parties are SUPER integrated ALL THE TIME. riiiight.

Perhaps, people congregate with those who they have things in common with on the basis of some of the ignorance and racism they have to put up with and “self segregating” is a way to comfort one another in a hostile environment.

“Diversity is not an issue here, I’m a Muslim girl from Dubai and I can assure you that you’ll find people from all over the world.”

Another thing, coming as an elite and wealthy international student and coming from the U.S. as a person of color are two entirely different realities, so let’s not mistake “diversity” as it relates to underrepresented students with “diversity” as many college and universities use as a way to say they are “diverse” because I would argue that certainly does not take heed of “economic” diversity.

Is this a serious question? Penn people (like those at Cornell) constantly bring up the ivy affiliation (sports conference) in an effort to invoke the prestige of Harvard and Yale. Harvard and Yale people wonder why they ever let the bougeois people of Penn and Cornell compete in their football league. Save yourself a life-lon inferiority complex and go to Yale!

P.S. for proof, just look at “ivyleaguer.” As soon as you see her screen name you know she went/goes to either Penn or Cornell. Other ivies stand on their own. Penn and Cornell try to cling to the prestige of conference affiliation since everyone knows they don’t belong in the ivy league.

SJUHawk is a reference to St. Joseph’s University (sju.edu), a respectable Jesuit school in the Philadelphia area. If anyone has an inferiority complex, it sounds like this guy has one against the Philly school on the other side of Fairmount Park…

I for one liked the fact that Penn participated in the Big 5 tournament against other Philly schools like SJU. it was the sort of thing that Yale would never do. But if Penn overshadowing all other Philadelphia schools bothers you that much, Penn would be happy to kick you out of the Palestra…

Just so everyone knows…

I chose Yale
I may want to try Penn again for med/grad school

See you in the fall Mj
