Hey,
I was wondering if my great great grandfather, whom a college is named after at yale, being president there would help me get in?
I have a 3.6 gpa and 2200 on the SATs. I am a big time basketball player. I am an active musician. I have a ton of extra curriculars and I have had a job.

Any help or advice would be really appreciated

Any reply would be great

You have 100% chance of not getting into any college you do not apply to.

That being said, I wouldn’t count on it.

If, for example, you’re a descendant of Timothy Dwight (which would be particularly cool because you’d have two Yale presidents in your family tree), I’d make sure to get that information into your application because it might help you stand out a little amid the flood of talented applicants. (“Who? Oh, now I remember, s/he’s the one who’s related to Timothy Dwight.”) But mostly you’ll have to make it on the strength of your own record.
