@otter101 I believe the interview deadline date was the 15th of Feb, but you never know they may decide to conduct some last minute ones - I know they did in the SCEA round - one of my friends got an interview days before decisions came out.
Someone just posted today on the SCEA thread that they got in…is it possible that decisions are coming out already?
@stephrass, look at that user’s name, which references a particularly misogynist form of porn, and the fact that he (I assume) claims to have been accepted “for law” (!!!) with a 1760.
Other than that, perfectly credible.
@stephrass lol as IxnayBob said, there are several tells in the post that show it is fake.
The glaring tell is him saying he “got in for law”. Yale college has no pre-professional law program, and even if he/she were referring to graduate law, SATs are not considered. If SAT scores were a factor, I think him/her being offered admission with 1760 is questionable.
Nope. If you have not received a request by this point, one is not forthcoming.
As others pointed out, the poster is a tr oll. I deleted the post.
@tankfrank13 not asking you to post your essay…but curious if you could share the topic, or some general info about what you said, and why you think they enjoyed it so much.
@feinstee I sent you a longer personal message, but for anyone else interested, without going into too much detail, I wrote about fly fishing. I honestly think on a different day, with a different admissions officer (i.e. Stanford where I was rejected REA), it might not have had nearly the same resonance. I wrote about what I was passionate about, and I’m extremely lucky that Yale had a small-town fly-fisherman/political activist role they thought I could fill.
@tankfrank13 makes a very important point. There’s a flukiness to admissions decisions, and what readers at one school may love can leave readers at another school cold or skeptical. If you don’t get into a particular school, rather than bemoaning your fate, you should probably assume that the school didn’t understand the value of what you had to offer. That new piece of information should reduce or even eliminate any interest you had in the school when you applied—and increase your estimation of the school that recognized your value.
What are you all thinking of majoring (in generally not necessarily at yale)? If anyone knows, what are the most popular yale majors?
@fizzy110 I’m thinking of majoring in biology. As march approaches, I can feel myself jittery. Decisions need to hurry and come faster. I’m at my limit haha! :(( ^:)^ :-/
@chal123 I feel the same way! @fizzy110 If I somehow got into Yale, I would love to major in History of Science and Medicine.
At Yale, EPE is kind of my dream major, but otherwise I’d like to study international economics
Can some one tell me why when I post @ followed by a user name it never turns to active blue ? For ex @chal 123. See? Thx.
try without space. as you type the names possible pop up. once you submit, it should turn blue. let’s try @chal123
@myyalieboy ^it worked
Thx
Prospective Junior here. 30 More days!!! Good luck all!
Seriously guys, waiting is the most stressing part of the application process. If you could please share some SAT (one and two) scores so we might have an idea about the strength of the pool of applicants. Good luck to you all. 29 more days to go
As a mom of 2 in the process this year, my best advice is get busy with something meaningful, prepare for any scholarship weekend you have ahead of you, and if none, start a sustainable project in your community or at your school, use your considerable talents to coach an underclassman who may be facing APs for the first time, talk to your HS about putting on a forum where a panel of 6-12 seniors reflect on their HS years and guide underclassmen as they make choices for next year (we just hosted that - hugely successful) – anything but watch and wait for decisions which now are ether already made or completely out of our control. You’ll look back on this time more fondly, regardless of the decisions you receive between now and April 1.
