@fizzy110 Exactly, but sadly we can’t think about that now. Just hope for the best and wait. No offense to any of the SCEA applicants but the less that get accepted the better for us.

@kayture Yup staying positive is the only way we can get through this!! I’m just going to do my best, at the end of the day there really isn’t anymore we can do! Also I’m trying not to set my heart on Yale too much, its really hard but I really don’t want to be heartbroken if I don’t get in.

@shabuwa Hahah I agree!! Good luck to any SCEA’s out there, but it’s true. Although I feel bad for being selfish the less applicants accepted early, the more room there is for us!!

One of my good friends from school got in SCEA today…he’s the first to get accepted since before 2007!! (According to Naviance anyway) I’m a RD applicant, although I haven’t submitted yet. Ahhhh! Freaking out for him and for me!

That’s awesome congrats to him!!! I haven’t submitted either!! :S probably will next week or the week after.

sucks to have to go into the RD round after working hard in the SCEA round. ah well im sure it’ll all be worth it in the end. deferees must remain steadfast!

So I’m a SCEA deferee! Anyone else out there in the same boat?

Did anyone here send in an additional recommendation?

I’m definitely going to!

@Jkyale19 Ah if you don’t feel like sharing that’s fine, I was just wondering what do you think an extra letter will contribute? I sent one from my oncologist (happens to be renowned in pediatric oncology), I feel like its definitely a great letter; however, Yale makes it seem like they are extremely cautious regarding supplemental materials of any sort.

Hi guys I’m new on CC and an international applicant! Yale is absolutely amazing and I’m trying not to get too attached haha.

@billymayshere Exactly!! IT would be worse if you hadn’t tried - what other schools are you applying to?

@Jkyale19 Yeah it seems like they’re really strict about additional stuff, so the prospect of it bringing my app down makes me too scared to even consider sending any sort of supplement. Did you do something like an internship with your oncologist?

Hey @bosphorous ! Same here

@fizzy110 I actually was diagnosed with cancer in the middle of my junior year, so I had the oncologist who treated me write the letter.

@Shabuwa I remember now from your previous post - I’m so sorry! I hope things are better now

Did any RD applicants receive interviews yet?

These short answers are so frustrating…

@bosphorous I haven’t even submitted yet lol. @crystal19 ugh agreed I only finished Thursday

@fizzy110 @bosphorus I submitted my app around the end of November and I haven’t heard anything yet; however, I would imagine they are only just beginning the RD interview process as they probably wanted to get SCEA done and decided before hand.

@fizzy110 @Shabuwa I submitted in October i think and I was just wondering if they started the RD process haha
