Hey everyone. I’m freaking out because i realized I accidentally sent in with my better SAT2 scores my lower ones too (670 in Bio-M and U.S History).
How negatively would this affect my application?
You’re supposed to send in all of your scores (all SAT and SAT or all ACT), so you did the right thing. I’ve heard they look at your two highest SAT II scores.
@faymer I’ve often wondered if there is any point in not reporting certain scores. My son’s transcripts have all his test scores on them anyway. So if admissions asks for transcripts, they’re going to see all your test scores.
Interesting, my school transcript only sends the state-mandated ACT test, and no other scores (I got a 31 on the state ACT test and a 33 on the one with the writing portion)
One more week guys! Let’s fight till the end!!! :-bd
Waiting anxiously. Got in at WashU but Yale remains the top choice.
I sent in all my scores (as we were told to do). I did better on the ACT, but because I wanted to submit my SATII, I had to submit my one SATI too.
@IndianPedro Fellow Wash U admit here! Except Stanford is my first choice, but I would also cry if I got into Yale.
I got rejected from ucla and ucb which is really discouraging despite yale’s decision having no relationship with other schools’ decisions…I really hope a miracle happens…
@chal123, don’t worry! If you have the stats at the end of the day its about fit - ucla, ucb and yale have completely different “personalities”, hopefully they think Yale suits you!!
@chal123 I know a girl who was rejected from UCLA, accepted to UCB, Stanford and Princeton (after deferral). Have hope!
@Chal123 Yeah, it’s totally okay. Different schools are looking for different things. I have a friend who was rejected from UCLA, USC, and Tulane, but was accepted to Pomona and Wellesley. Granted, those aren’t Ivy League schools, but at the same time, she didn’t apply to any Ivies.
I know of a kid who got rejected from WashU but got into MIT. I know of a kid you got pushed to Spring admission at USC, but got EA admitted to MIT. When you’re applying to a competitive school, it is anybody’s guess and you never know what one school will value that another doesn’t. You can’t be delusional about your chances with competitive schools, but there is no reason to despair. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
Hi, guys!
Is 5PM considered “evening” or “late afternoon”? 'cause Yale’s email says:
“…decisions for freshman applicants to Yale College will be made available online Tuesday March 31, 2015 in the EVENING.”
Any clue?
@arabm2. Decisions will be available next Tuesday at 5 PM Eastern Standard Time (I will leave the whether that is evening or late afternoon argument to another).
@cttwenty15 As long as it’s 5PM, I’m happy lol. Thanks!!
Did anyone get an"Action Required" email from Yale and the another “correction” email stating that it was a mistake? I can’t help but read into everything…
I got those emails, but I don’t think it means anything. @hakunamatata1 and the Action Required one stated when decisions would be released. I think they just put the wrong subject title on the email.
Does that mean anything?
@luvinbaba @hakunamatata1 ^^ Even though I have no way of confirming it, I’m going to go ahead and say it seems like standard protocol to me; they’re just informing us of the release date. It makes sense especially considering there has been so much speculation as to when ivy day is.
