Yeah, so I was rejected, not deferred, from Yale EASC. I'm curious about my chances to these schools:
Princeton
Stanford
Harvard
Vanderbilt
Colgate
Duke
Dartmouth
Claremont McKenna

Do I need to apply somewhere safer, like Texas A&M? Your opinions are appreciated.

bump........

Im shocked u didnt even get deferred

Princeton
Stanford
Harvard
Duke
Dartmouth
- should get in 1-2 out of 5, but they are a crapshoot for everyone

Claremont McKenna
Vanderbilt
Colgate

shouldnt be a probelm for you

if you have the chance, retake two SAT IIs, your 750 is great, but if you can get two more in that range I think you'll be set ;)

I also think that your SAT II's hurt, and if you could pull another one over 700 it might be helpful. Harvard and Princeton are pretty dicey RD - the Harvard RD admit rate is going to be around a whooping 6%.

Duke and Dartmouth are problematic, but absolutely worth applying to. I like your chances at Vandy and Colgate; CMC is a little harder to predict.

You don't have a drop-dead safety, however, and you probably should. If you can find a college that you like that admits at least 50% of its students, and where you are well into the top quartile of SAT's (should'nt be a problem) I think you will have far safer strategy.

Sorry that you got such a sucky holiday gift from Yale. But you sound like a great student and person - and it's really gong to work out!

I retook my SAT II's, I'll find out my scores on Monday.

Does anyone else have any thoughts?

In at Vanderbilt, Colgate, CMC. The rest...no idea.
