Hello, I’m a freshman by year but sophomore by credit at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. My GPA is currently a 3.8, but I’m slowly crawling toward a 3.9 Although graduate school seems distant, I’ve already given a tremendous amount of thought and planning into my current baccalaureate program at Drew (with a major in English literature and minors in Medieval Studies and Art History) as well as for my forthcoming studies at graduate school. Since I’m interested in English literature, particularly literature of the Renaissance, Yale’s Renaissance Studies graduate program seems perfect for me. Aside from offering access to one of the most diverse libraries in the world, Yale’s Renaissance Studies is wholly comprehensive, providing an amalgamation of studies pertaining to the Renaissance across multiple disciplines. Thus, I have two questions:
(1) What can I do before my senior year to improve my application to Yale’s Renaissance Studies program? (I am fluent in Russian as well as English, but their website notes a requirement in Latin which I plan on divesting for next summer.)
(2) If anyone has gotten accepted into Yale’s Renaissance Studies program, what was it like? Was the workload too arduous and cumbersome? How have you/are you managing? Moreover, what were your GRE scores like?
I suppose this was more than two questions, but any advice will be greatly appreciated
