Actually some freshman do get single rooms, but within suites. Freshman year for my S was in a suite with 1 double and 3 singles.

As a freshman, my D was in a 6-person suite and they all had singles.

Sorry, I should have distinguished between traditional singles and singles within a suite that shares a common room.

Dear Harvardlite,

Why must you butcher the English language?

My condolences to your daughter for being stuck in Morse or Stiles.

She hasn’t minded at all. She’s had a lovely 4 years and has made wonderful friends. :)

I love that you assume I’m automatically a guy.

insert patriarchal rant here

@abcdefg1234, no intenton to. srry, my bad. wont hppn again.

Does yale offer cleaning services?

Not that I’m aware of. Some residential colleges have bathrooms at the end of hallways, used by the entire hall. Those are cleaned by custodial staff, but bathrooms in suites are not.

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but shouldn’t these be questions that you ask AFTER you get admitted (and would be choosing a school within the choices that you have)

^^harvard’s first post indicated his interest in distinguishing between the Ivies by the quality and size of the rooms, and whether there would be space for his parents to stay with him in said room. He’s being consistent.

^good to know, thanks. my friends think i am very consistent too.

Are research opportunities at yale (specifically biomedical research) easily available for undergraduate students?

Do Yale libraries offer full-night, all-day, anyday access? I have heard some universities even have near-hotel like facilities in their libraries. (idk, if this is true, but i do believe so). Is this true about Yale?

^ i am gonna give this question a bump. call me a ■■■■■, i could care less

[Yale University Library: Sterling Memorial Library Hours](http://www.library.yale.edu/hours/)

Note there is a dropdown menu listing the many libraries at Yale and their hours. You would have to check with the concierge to see about hotel-like amenities.

is there a men’s field hockey team at Yale? cub or intramural.

(i know men’s field hockey is not played in a varsity level at any american college)

The main libraries are not open all the time–bass is open from 8:30-1:45 on weeknights i believe (i’m not a late night studier for the most part so i don’t know off the top of my head when libraries close). Sterling has somewhat shorter hours. That link should provide info.

But, there is a library in every college that is open 24 hours a day, everyday. So there is always a place to study.

is their honor code testing at yale? by that i mean, are there no testing monitors and the university expects integrity from students?

Do you mean “is THERE honor code testing…?” At least for some classes, yes. D took one final at home at the beginning of Christmas break.

this is hilarious

HL-■■■■■…

I am sure there are lots of great clean hotel rooms in Cambridge, New Haven and Princeton that offer plenty of varied radio stations/music…

^thx. Fogog, you add real diversity to everyone’s perspective of me.

@riverranter- And my bad on the there. My ingles aint too (to?) perfect.

Does yale offer good commute services for people without cars? Are freshman even allowed to have cars?
