Yale Residence/Life/Clubs

…because in your world’s logic, slamming people’s opinion and being insulting naturally incites them to reply thoughtfully and comprehensively to you? Stay in your own little corner and shout all you want HL. I’m done here.

^u evr watched the The Dark Night. It has the Joker in it. The Joker says “why so serious”

why so offended whn i attack the city of New Haven?

since some of u guys r havng so much trouble aaccepting the remarkable lackadaisicalness of New Haven, i will give u some help. Tday, I chatroomed to a like-minded pal who visitd the Yale campus on anotha site and ths is wht he tld me:

“New Haven just doesn’t jump out to offer anything. But… I did notice that New Haven has a sizeable Muslim-American population with 2 masjids [better known as mosques in the West]. This is not true of the Princeton suburbia. If you are interested in studying the influence and opinion of Muslims in the 21st century, then New Haven can accommodate your needs.”

unfortunatly, my convarsasion ws cut short and I may nvr be able to convrse w/ him agan in the chatroom.

So this leads to my nxt natural q:

What other cultural communities does New Haven offer? I hope ths q does not unleash any intrnt tantrums

Btw, emulating the Joker is probably not the most advisable life plan/way to go through life. Juuuust sayin’

Anyways, just because you brought up the topic of New Haven, I checked out their city website ([Welcome to the City of New Haven Connecticut](http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/)) There’s a lot of cool things, like their restaurants/dining, these cute little shopping areas, some places to hang out like Long Wharf Park and the Green - etc, etc. I’m actually now really looking forward to not only visiting Yale, but checking out the city too.

And these “intrnt tantrums”, as you so eloquently term them, wouldn’t happen if you could learn to speak with a measure of humility and respect.

ok, i just read the whole thread… and HL to answer your very first (of a ton of random questions) yales rooms are very good - extremely spacious by university standards. just be happy you arent sharing one room with 4 people and a bathroom with 40.

by the way, why is your name harvardlite if you are interested in yale???
however, i really agree with fuzzyfirebunny… you gotta be WAY more open minded if youre lookin to yale and new haven (which, by the way, is home to at least two universities… yale included…)
and to clarify that, being open minded doesnt mean you ever have to like classical music or even ever listen to it for that matter, and you most definitely can have your parents staying in your dorm if you wanted to (awkward by most peoples standards, but if thats what you wanted to do…)… all it means is that if someone ELSE likes classical music or thinks it weird to have parents stay over, you dont berate them with comments that they are stupid and not paying attention to your questions… just sayin

oh, and this comment of pure gold right here:

"why so offended whn i attack the city of New Haven? "

you want the answer?? maybe its cause youre ATTACKING them… people tend to get a tiny bit offended and turn on you fast when you start to attack them.

^y dont we stop being so sensistive, itz an internet forum.

Letz put on the big boyz pantz.

I hve been largely absent from the forumz bc I hve been a bit sick and overwhlmd w/ real life’s demandz. [for all those who hve missed me]

Nxt question:

around wht proportion of yale undergrads go to church on Sundays?

Harvardlite…

Please, please, go to Harvard.

Harvard – Plenty of religious diversity, but I hear there’s widespread discrimination practiced against students who eschew the use of vowels.

I can’t give you specific numbers, but there is vibrant religious life of all kinds at Yale: [Yale University Chaplain’s Office](<a href=“Chaplain's Office |”>Chaplain's Office |)

wjb: :)

HL please dear lord just go to harvard.

you clearly are not looking for what yale is offering.

and why are you so curious about the “full-bearded/capped Jews at Yale?” but beyond those jews you are worried about, yale was founded as a church organized university, so, YES there is a religious presence at yale… however, just like to the answer of all your other questions, it is your choice whether you take part or not, and i doubt any typical yale student would make fun of you for either choice.

Harvardlite, please do not come to yale. I imagine new haven would like you as little as you like it.

I sense a great deal of ironic humor, harvardite. :)

^ That may be the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to you, HL! XP

hey fuzzyfirebunny… you said you were most likely goin to yale??? did you get a LL and what are you planning to take??

answers question for the second time :D

I got accepted SCEA, and am preeettyyy sure I’m going (love Yale!) Only question is if I may be able to get more financial aid from Harvard. And even then, it’ll be a tough choice.

Also… planning to take? You mean majors?

ya FFB my bad. i knew you had written an earlier post, i just completely forgot :P

… and ya, which major are you interested in, or are you goin undeclared for a while?? and do you think harvard will be more generous with their aid? from what ive heard/researched, yale tends to be the most generous ivy interms of need based aid…

Yale and Harvard typically match one another’s financial aid offers. Neither wants to lose a student to the other. Same goes for Princeton.

I’m interested in an international business major, because I know I want to live/work in China, but that’s about all I’ve got down so far :stuck_out_tongue: My ideal job would require lots of travel, so maybe like a company liaison type thing… but who knows. I figure I have plenty of time to figure that out!

Yeah, I’ve heard that of course all the Ivies are generous with aid, but someone told me Harvard’s is the best? shrug No idea. I really don’t expect to be admitted, since the pool is so competitive/rates are almost certain to go down this year. And if that’s the case, I will be happy as a panda going to Yale :D

Harvardlite, what do you have against vowels?

HL: did you get in?
