I'm a recent EA acceptee, and I'm planning on playing rugby at Yale. I've emailed a couple of the students which it lists on my admit page, but haven't gotten any responses.

Does anyone know what their rugby team is like? I know that they just moved up to D1, how is New England College Rugby in general? I'm from the Midwest and it's just starting to catch on out here, although I've played for four years.

Anyhow, if anyone knows anything, or is planning on playing as well, let me know.

I play flyhalf or centre. Hopefully I'll be tossing a ball your way then, since you'll be the next one out. Is rugby very big up there in Canada? I am in Chicago and the interest is moderate, not huge but definately growing. I love it. I've played 4 years with a club that I started, 3 summer seasons, and 1 season with the local men's club.
I'm hoping that their rugby team is cool. I would definately like to meet some of the people involved during Bulldog Days.

yeh, i was reading up on yale rugby, it looked awesome. I am from the UK and at my school rugby was practicaly a religion. I play scrum half btw for my shools 1st team ( ranked 3rd in country) so hopefully IF i get in I'll be representing UK rugger in the team :).

well, so far we've got our scrumhalf, our flyhalf, and our centre/wing filled. another wing and a centre and we'll have our backline together :)

man, i'm jealous of you guys and rugby being huge where you are. Football is god in the states, with very little room for anything else. Football is okay, I played, but didn't like it near as much as rugby.

my team is fairly competitive, although the talent in the area really comes out when we do some of the select-side stuff. we played a scottish team from Nairn, and a team from England over the summer.

Gotta love rugby. Anyhow, glad to hear that I'm not the only one who wants to play :)

Hey Jimmy, I don't play rugby, but I'm from the Chicagoland area :). Were you going to go to the pizza party today before they canceled it, or are you going to the rescheduled one in april?

I'm applying as a transfer in march, just sat my SAT, and I've been playing from a little while. I'm from Wigan (that's north west of the UK to the Americans), so League was the religion there, not Union, but I played for LSE 2nds as well as school, college and town when younger (my fitness level has dropped since I was 18 though - too much fags 'n' booze)

Anyways, I'm a centre - prefer outside, but can deal with inside. How about enlisting some of the big American Football players as forwards?

i am from Worcester (pretty much in the middle of UK) , play for Bromsgrove School ,midlands and Worcester youth academy.. Did u sit your SAT at warwick on saturday Hallet cos i was there to.

Molyneux - No, my SAT was in London - how did you find it?

Worcester youth is good going mate. And as for a Freshman team - good 3/4s are essential, so if we could find a fly half (and, dammit, we all get in) we could be on our way

Yeah, I was disappointed when the chicago event got cancelled. I had to go to the city anyways (concert at the metro=awesome), so i was going to be there anyways.

good to see so much interest in rugby. I know that Yale does have a women's team, although I don't know much about it. one of the contacts on the admit page for rugby is amanda, and i can only assume that she would be on the girls team.
