Yale SCEA: financial aid forms due Nov. 1???

I just finished dealing with a lost teacher recommendation for SCEA when I noticed this:

Yale University Financial Aid > Prospective & Transfer Students > Early Action Application Guidelines for U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Canadian Residents

I have not sent in anything related to financial aid.

What do I do??

I called the office and they said something about providing an "estimate" with your acceptance. What's the point of this anyway? FAFSA is based of of 2010 tax returns, right? The office guy told me send it in anyway...

I really need some help here.

The point of this is to give families who need to consider financial aid in their decisions a rough estimate of the cost of Yale. It is not the actual package that they will provide.

So can I just ignore it and send in forms after January 1st?

Yeah, I shat my pants when I saw that to, but it seems that if you get them done before March 1st you will get the finaid package on 1 April

OK so it is in no way mandatory?

Per the link:

Thus, this is not mandatory and only a convenience to those who want a preview of what level of aid they might qualify for should you be admitted–a number that will be revised later (in April) once the “real” numbers (based on your 2010 1040 tax form) are submitted. Failing to make this deadline does not affect the eventual aid you will eventually receive (if any). Indeed if you had submitted the documents you would have had to re-submit updated copies once your family’s 2010 taxes had been completed .
