<p>I’d say go for SCEA. The majority are deferred to the regular pool, and they claim to only reject those who don’t stand a chance, so they can focus their efforts on getting in elsewhere. Even though many of those admitted SCEA are athletes and legacy, it’s still an extra shot. The only reason I wouldn’t apply SCEA is if I thought that my application (essays, mainly) was not ready. However, I plan to be way ahead of schedule on my apps, so I know I’m going to apply SCEA. All in all, it’s sort of like getting two chances to be accepted, so at a school as selective as Yale it may be worth it.</p>
<p>On second thought, don’t apply SCEA, you’ll increase my chances of getting in. :P</p>
