Yale is a high reach for anyone… But you have some good hooks (first generation especially) and if you can write a good essay I’d say that you are a competitive applicant. Perfect GPA… nearly perfect SAT’s… academic and community focused ec’s. It’s really hard to say with the Ivies. Very unpredictable. But they’re not throwing your application away, that’s for sure.

Thanks, actually to clarify I am NOT an URM or first generation, the template I used just had that as examples. Sorry for the mixup, any other opinions?

haha yeah your screen name says it all you go to panther creek lol (I also live in NC and am applying to Yale SCEA…SO CHANCE BACK!)

With Siemens semifinalist and your scores/gpa you have a great chance. If only you were a recruit… you’ve done all you can so just hope for the best. it helps if you have published research! also geographic diversity for north carolinians FTW!

haha how do you know i’m not a fan of western carolina but thanks for the chance, i chanced you back. a little curious on how you got involved in that cool stuff

In my opinion you got a good chance to get into Yale. Academically-wise you’re very very strong, there might be a lack of Ec’s (community-work) but that’s just a tiny factor. If you don’t screw up your Essays I’d say that there’s a 70% for you to get admitted.

All the best and (hopefully) see you at the Bulldog Days next year :)
