Yale School of Drama...anybody apply/go??

I'm interested in an MFA at Yale -- I do realize this IS YALE -- but is there more of an emphasis on practical theatre experience/teaching experience, etc...??

I'm interested in chatting with folks who have perhaps applied/went there...

THANKS

My undergrad is from one of the top-tier theatre conservatories in the nation.

Are you an actor, designer, director...?

I've applied twice, been rejected twice. Getting in is mostly about connections... who you know, or who your rec letter writers know. I'm sure they'd deny that, but from what I've seen it's absolutely true.

My under grad is Theatre Studies and I focused in Directing...so probably that...which I believe only 2 or 3 luckies get in...and yeh ...i agree, MFA programs are really turning into "the who you know" and not the "what you know"...kinda sad...

I got in to Yale School of Drama and I went to a tiny hick college in the South and my "connections" were my directors of plays I did in community theatre. (and bad community theatre at that). and also I'm a white male, so the minority thing didn't help me either.

sure connections help, but they aren't a deciding factor. I know that it does help if you audition more than once-as I got in on my second try.
