Hi everybody,
I was just wondering if anybody knew the nuances of the Yale standardized test requirements.

The Yale page says: "You must report the scores of all of the SATs and SAT Subject Tests or all of the ACTs and ACT Writing Tests that youve taken. If you choose to fulfill the requirement with SAT scores, then its not necessary to send any scores from the ACT, even if youve taken the ACT. If you choose to fulfill the requirement using the ACT, then you dont need to send us any SAT scores unless you wish to do so. Whichever type of test you choose, you must report all your scores from every time youve taken that type of test. And if you choose to use a combination of SAT and ACT test results, you must report all scores from both agencies."

So my question is, do I need to report ACT or SAT scores that I took for a talent search in middle school? I know Stanford has this exception, but does this apply to Yale as well?

just curious; does the SAT agency send those middle school talent search results? My daughter (yale '15) took those, and I’m sure she didn’t report them (I’m also sure she couldn’t even remember what she got).

Sorry, I should probably clarify, the score I’m specifically talking about was an ACT that i took in eighth grade. I completely forgot about it and made a new ACT account a few months back when I took it again, but a couple weeks ago, they mysteriously linked my eighth grade scores to my account, so I can’t send it without selecting not to send that score.

ACT only lets you send one score at a time since you have to pay for each one.

It is commonly accepted practice that only those taken in high school are relevant. However, it would be nice if colleges mention that in their verbage.

You only need to sent high school scores, I emailed Yale a week ago about it since I took the ACT every year in middle school as part of my gifted curriculum
