Unfortunately, your ID card stays the same all four years. If your card gets lost or stolen, they will give you a replacement with the same photo. Kind of sucks...

are the freshman and soph classes for the distribution requirements mostly lecture type or more seminar based like Columbia's?

they can be met however you want.

pearfire: 4 germans were admitted this year. Two will matriculate!

i know one of the Germans! I love that kid.

Really?? Is he brilliant? Smart? Rather average?

edm, a '10er of a 09er?! girl or a guy?!

Does Yale consider AP scores in your application???

I haven't read the entire thread, I'll do so tomorrow. Excuse me if this question has been asked before:

How much time will an undergraduate spend studying/preparing for class? I've heard stories where students are in their room at their desk nearly 24/7 with no social life what-so-ever. Is it possible to maintain a high GPA without super-studying?

IHS- I'm an '09 guy, my German buddy is a '10 guy.
lesbo- a lot of the kids i knew didn't start studying until 9ish. they got their work done and still had a social life. sleep is just something you gotta sacrifice. a lot of Yalies can still get good grades and be social.

So, I know the question that I'm going to ask is hard to answer, but which Yale residential college is the "best", location wise, and people wise? Which one is closet to the action? Which one has the best rooms? etc.

Thanks!
