Yale Summer Program for Pre-College Students

I'm going to be a junior this year. I'm thinking of taking undergraduate courses (specifically molecular bioligy with laboratory; it fulfills the pre-med requirement) at Yale the summer before my senior year. The "no-nonsense" tone of the summer school website appealed to me. I am a strong student (5.0 GPA, conduct melanoma research at UCLA and am about to publish a paper), and I want to go to a program where I get treated like a real college student. From what I understand, other "college programs" at Harvard and Stanford have ridiculously high acceptance rates (greater than 60% for Harvard). The courses are not taught by professors from the host university, and the overall summer experience is like going to a really expensive high school on a prestigious college campus.

I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about the Yale summer experience for pre-college students. About how many pre-college students apply, are accepted, and enroll each summer? Do pre-college students have access to the same academic and social opportunities Yale has to offer? Do pre-college students get to socialize with current Yalies and other college students, or are they restricted to other pre-college students? Is the educational quality of courses on par with Yale courses offered over the year? Lastly, is achieving an "A" possible for a pre-college student?

Sorry I've posted so many questions in a row. I would truly appreciate it if anyone could pass on any information he/she knows about this program.

I was there this summer for Summer Session, but I'm '09.
There was a nice handfull of prefrosh. They're all invited to live like regular Yalies. They can mix in with the college kids if they want, but the tended to stick together. They lived in a different college and had a curfew.
Since prefrosh can only take 2 classes, an A can be do-able.
