Yale Summer Program in Astrophysics (YSPA) 2020 - Apply now!

Now accepting applications for YSPA 2020. https://yspa.yale.edu/

YSPA is a 2-week online + 4-week residential research and enrichment program for 32 rising high school seniors who are interested in astronomy, physics, math, computer programming, and other science and tech fields.

YSPA has a small student-to-faculty ratio (32:5), so students get to know each other and the faculty very well. It’s a summer experience like no other.

Applications are due on March 8, 2020.

Hello.
Does this program offer financial aid for international students?

Yes, financial aid is distributed on an as-needed basis to both US and international students.

why is this thread so inactive

Does anyone know what the research project is going to be in 2020? I know it was about supernovae last year, but the website states that it changes in some years and hasn’t mentioned what it will be in 2020.

I would like to upload a personal video to answer why I would want to attend the Yale Summer Program in Astrophysics, my personal and academic goals, etc. I have my video on my Windows desktop, but I am unable to create the URL for my video in the essay box. Can you please help?

you can upload it to yt and simply copy the link

YSPA has been canceled

can you pm me?

They just sent out an email saying that in-person was cancelled and that they’re trying to go online with the program.

So can everyone apply for the online program?

From what the email said, I took it as anyone that got the email is immediately moved to being considered for it?

what danideli0n said is correct. you can contact YSPA if you specifically do not want to be considered for the online program

Well not normal in the residential sense lol, but it will continue as an online program. Decisions are supposed to come out April 11!

Finger crossed

When they are coming?

No clue lol

Has anybody received an admissions decision yet?

nien

Do they usually release the acceptance emails and rejection emails at the same time?
