<p>Does the Yale Supplement ever change?</p>

<p>Are the short takes and the required second essay the same every year?</p>

<p>One of the short takes may have changed in the last four years (I can’t remember which one), but the required second essay has always been a part of the supplement – and it has not changed in the last four years. <p>Do you think I should wait to do the Yale second essay? I don’t want to do it and then have it be useless.</p>

<p>Yale’s supplemental essay is very open ended, and as the essay has not changed in years, it would be a pretty safe bet to get started on it now, especially if you are thinking of applying SCEA.</p>

<p>“You have already told us about yourself in the Common Application, with its list of activities, the Short Answer, and the Personal Essay. While we leave the topic of your second essay entirely up to you, try telling us something about yourself that you believe we cannot learn elsewhere in your application. Please limit yourself to fewer than 500 words.”</p>
